I am looking forward to this challenging adventure, which I imagine will be lengthy and have many twists and turns – and hopefully a lot of buzzing, too. [That's what hurdy gurdies are supposed to do.] Just so it doesn’t take me as long as it did for Odysseus to get home!

There will definitely be a lot of “wandering” involved, as much of this will be new to me, though I did make a very basic hurdy gurdy from scratch in 1998.

I am looking forward to this one being a vast improvement in both looks and sound. I am neither what you’d call a musician nor an instrument maker, just someone who’d like a “wheel fiddle” worth the trouble to fiddle with. Plus, I like tinkering with wood and doing marquetry.
